#1 Solace Lane album cover

New EP – #1 Solace Lane

In the year of our tenth anniversary as a band, we’re proud to present our much anticipated new EP ‘#1 Solace Lane’.

#1 Solace Lane is available for pre-order and stream right now, and is the first in a four-part series of Vinyl releases which go together to make one big ‘Solace Lane’ album.

Sometimes it hits you in the gut, in the heart, or in the mind. But we’re not talking about music, we’re talking about depression and anxiety, topics Selekt Few’s four-track EP #1 Solace Lane closely examines.

In today’s over filtered, image-obsessed society, listeners will welcome the EP’s honest but hopeful view on mental health.

Featuring memorable and motivating hooks combined with open and authentic bars from Percuss, Shareef and their feature guests, the four tracks take you on a journey through the various states of mental health and human emotion.

Despite the sombre subject matter throughout the songs, the sounds are uplifting and encouraging laced with stirring guitar riffs and soulful keys.

Starting with the tongue-in-cheek ‘Bite Me’, the EP moves into slightly bleaker territory with ‘One Piece’ and ‘Not My Way’, finishing with the optimistic and assuring ‘Goes On’. This one will hit you in the gut, heart and mind all at the same time… in a good way.

The ‘Solace Lane’ series is the culmination of 10 years of working together as Selekt Few, including thousands of hours of writing, rehearsing, performing, producing, recording, mixing and marketing our own music.

Recording Drums For New Releases

If you’ve been wondering what we’ve been up to, pondering questions like “Where’s all the new music?”. Well, we’ve been busy enjoying life and working on new songs.

A few weeks ago, after months of planning we visited Underground Recording Studios and recorded 5 drum tracks for new songs.  Here’s a short video of two of those songs Back It Up & Goes On.

We’ve been following the drummer Brody on instagram and YouTube for quite a while now and previously had him do a small part on our most recent single, On Country. So when we needed better drum lines in more songs, he was our natural (and only) choice.

If you want some great drums, from a solid drummer hit up Brody at Real Drums For You.
